Boycotting Bob Evans

The Other Paper has reported that Bob Evans Restaurants in a pilot program has installed flat screen televisions at two Columbus Area Locations, Graceland and Canal Winchester. In the evening even when requested by Customers they have refused to change the channel from Fox News.

I am a frequent Customer of Bob Evans. Luckily the ones I attend have yet to install Televisions. But I have already contacted them informing them that I will walk out the door if I ever see Fox News Channel on a TV screen in their or any business.

I will spend my money where hate and lies are not forced on the customers of the establishment.

I recommend other Customers contact Bob Evans to inform them of your concern, to nip this in the bud.

UPDATE: Bob Evans Corporation has Replied, see comment attached

Hello Joe,
My name is Margaret Standing and I'm the director of corporate communications at Bob Evans Farms. I spoke to the reporter for this story, and want to clear up some inaccuracies or misunderstandings. I can tell you definitively: No one has created any kind of policy for televisions to be set to any one channel all the time. This story represents miscommunication - pure and simple. Our managers use their best judgement to control the channels according to customers' requests, and until now we've only had positive feedback on the televisions. They are meant to enhance our customers' enjoyment - not create an unpleasant environment. At Bob Evans we always say we treat our guests like friends and our friends like family. You have my apology if we've offended you in any way, and hope you'll reconsider your position.
