Pickerington Obama Office Packed House for Debate

I watched the debate at the Pickerington Obama Headquarters tonight with a packed house of supporters. All the chairs will filled as were our stomachs with all the food brought in by the supporters for the night. Also in attendance was Karl K. Stalter who is the candidate for Fairfield County Commissioner as well as the Campaign Manager, Media Consultant and Finance Director for the Neuhardt for Congress Campaign.

There were a lot of laughs at many of McCain's factually challenged statements, as well as cheers at some of Obama's great points made throughout the debate. Overall this group left with a lot of smiles on their faces and with even more energy to hit the streets this weekend for Obama.

OH 07: Neuhardt reacts to McCain's Pick

From the Neuhardt Campaign:

SPRINGFIELD, OH: Sharen Neuhardt, Democratic Candidate for Ohio's 7th Congressional District, today issued the following statement in response to Senator John McCain's vice presidential nominee:

"I congratulate Governor Sarah Palin on being the first woman selected as the GOP's vice presidential candidate. But it's sad that Republicans took more than 20 years to follow the Democratic lead. We selected our first woman candidate for vice president, Geraldine Ferraro, in 1984.

"Today's choice is pandering at its best. It's unfortunate that Governor Palin is being used to shore up the right-wing base. Governor Palin lacks the experience that Senator McCain says a president needs. This pick had nothing to do with being qualified to step into the presidency. It had everything to do with the dim political outlook for John McCain's campaign.

"This is not the change we need. It's more of the same."

Sharen Neuhardt is the Democratic nominee for the open seat in Ohio's 7th Congressional District. She is an attorney, business, and community leader who will work to solve tough problems in Ohio's 7th District, and bring the right kind of change to the people of Ohio. Sharen lives with her husband and family on their farm in Greene County's Miami Township. For more information, on Sharen and Ohio's 7th District, visit http://www.neuhardtforcongress.com/.

Endorsement: Ohio's 7th

I live in the clearly gerrymandered republican safe 7th district. Which swings from the Miami Valley through Springfield down under Columbus to pick me up somehow on the southern edge of Reynoldsburg. For 18 years this district has indeed been safe for Dennis Hobson who thankfully is retiring at the end of this term.

It has been frustrating for democrats in this district every 2 years to find no viable democratic candidate opposing Hobson. This year I’m pleased to see a number of democrats running for the seat and even more pleased to find one with the background and beliefs of Sharen Neuhadt.

Sharen will be another fresh voice that is so much needed not only in congress but also in the Democratic Party. Sharen not being a carpetbagger grew up in the Miami valley in Dayton. She is the daughter of a Police officer and the grand daughter of a Fireman. She is a graduate of Georgetown Law School and a successful and accomplished attorney.

She has experience working with community and business leaders and will be willing and able to work not only with her fellow democrats in congress but also to cross the aisle to actually get something done.

Her positions on the war and health care and the economy are very much in line with mine.

Sharen has the experience, background and ability not only to win this district but also to serve it well in Congress.
