"Christian" Daubenmire Calls for Violence

Dave Daubenmire the self promoting wack job grandstanding with his vigil in front of Zack Space's Office in Zanesville, is clearly getting frustrated that his moment of fame is waning.

First he has decided to call his own "town hall" to grandstand and get more media attention from those that have gotten bored with him and giving him no coverage for days. But today in the name of "Christian Values" he has posted on his web site a call to violence against the Supreme Court and Elected Officials in a piece entitled "It is our Duty"

"When the black-robed Taliban ruled that the government had the right to seize private property we should have stormed the Supreme Court and cleaned off the bench. It was our duty.

Every time it was discovered that one of our elected officials lied to the people they should have been tarred, feathered, and hung in the public square. It was our duty."

He goes on to say: "Sounds radical, eh? Well how about what these boys said. “That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…”

This man is an insult to all Christians. He in fact is also not an American. He is advocating violence and an uprising against the Government of the United States. He should be arrested and removed from the public streets of Zanesville as a threat to public safety and an enemy of the country some of us love. People actually let this man coach their kids, that is just sick.

OH 18:Citizens to Space, "Fix It Now!"

I attended a rally organized by ProgessOhio and Ohio Citizens for Health at the Office of Congressman Zack Space in Zanesville at lunch hour today. In attendance were citizens of various ages and income levels from several counties within and outside Ohio's 15th district.

To reporters from WHIZ and WOUB television and the Zanesville Times Recorder these citizens expressed their own personal stories for being there. The common thread was that health care is broken, that it must be fixed and we expect Congressman Space to support the House Bill on Health Care Reform.

We along with Mayor Butch Zwelling of Zanesville were invited into the Congressman's office to meet with a member of his staff. A packet of letters in support of Health Care Reform compiled by Progress Ohio were submitted to him and several citizens spoke.

It was made clear by the Citizens that Obama and Space were elected to office by people like those in attendance today to take action on Health Care. Our support for the Congressman was expressed as well as was desire to continue such support for him based on his votes on health care reform.

We were presented with a position paper by the Congressman's staffer that in short expresses a desire for health care reform but also aspects of the current bill that the Congressman seeks to improve.

Improvement is fine Congressman, but blocking action is not acceptable to any of us that were in attendance.

Because of the attendance and media coverage it was clearly a worthwhile effective event to promote health care reform.

How's Obama doing in Southeast Ohio?

Conventional wisdom is that Southeast Ohio is a tough area for Obama to garner much support. Imagine my surprise when I saw this on Blue Ave. in the north end of Zanesville yesterday. This is a primary road where the high school is located.



This is just one block of this street that had several blocks of yard after yard with Obama signs. I counted at least 25 Obama signs in a 3 block area. I saw one McCain sign.

Payday Lending Law Costs Eastern Ohio

The effects of the latest government "protect us from ourselves law" the payday lending bill, are being seen already in a number of communities in eastern Ohio. One Zanesville based firm has now closed stores in Cambridge, Byesville, Barnsville, Coshocton, Logan, St Clairsville and stopped the opening of a new store in South Zanesville.

In a time of economic tightness in retail this law has resulted in 7 new empty retail spaces in small towns in Ohio from this one company alone. 7 locations that paid rent, taxes, and provided jobs to citizens in this hard hit area of the state.

7 towns where an option was taken away from its citizens so that now in a short term financial emergency they must either try to float a check which could result in $50 or more overdraft fees, or result to credit cards whose application fees, late fees, annual fees and interest rates way over shadow the $15 these citizens could have paid for a 2 week $100 loan.

Southeastern Ohio Honors Fallen Hero

As I write this the funeral procession for Army Specialist Kyle Norris continues to make its way from Zanesville to Lowell Ohio. Kyle who was 22 gave his life in service to his country near Baghdad.

I passed along the route earlier and found it lined with American flags and many citizens paying their last respects. As the procession proceeded through downtown Zanesville, two fire trucks outlined the street.

The Zanesville Times Recorder followed the procession live on its website as it made its way along the Muskingum River as thousands of citizens in McConnelsville,Beverly and Lowell lined the streets. They reported families coming out of their homes, soliders in battle fatigues, boy scouts and veterans groups among the crowds.

Space helps fix another Ney mess.

The City of Zanesville dodged a bullet today with the help of Congressman Zack Space. In 2006 a connector road costing 1.5 million dollars was built and opened by the city to connect State Routes 146 and 60. The funding for this was originally secured by Congressman Bob Ney as part of the Route 60 improvement project between Zanesville and Dresden.

When that project was cancelled Bob Ney and the Ohio Department of Transportation of the Taft Administration informed the City of Zanesville, that they could use those funds for the connector road. Turns out Ney never filed a reauthorization for the money.

A month after the road opened the city was informed that the Federal Highway Administration had withdrawn the money. Space worked with Federal officials, the city and ODOT director Jim Beasley to get this money reauthorized.

Space once again saw a problem and got it handled.

Zanesville Mayor Zwelling Welcomes Michelle Obama

Today in Zanesville, Ohio the Mayor Howard "Butch" Zwelling was at the Zanesville Day Nursery to Welcome Michele Obama. The Mayor was also at Hillary Clintons invitation only "Economic Summit" yesterday after being receiving a call at 11pm inviting him the night before.

Michele held a round-table with a few women at the Nursery today as 50 or so supporters looked on. She spoke about the issues facing mothers in Ohio. Issues such as childcare, college affordability and health care were discussed.

Though the visit was only approximatly an hour those in attendence expressed their pleasure and excitement in meeting her.

Extremist Right to Lifers invade Zanesville

Today the main commercial road through Zanesville, Maple Ave, was invaded by right to life advocates using very sick and immoral tactics. The road normally traveled by families on their way to shop at the Mall, Walmart, Bob Evan's, or on their way to Doctor's offices or Hospitals, was lined with advocates using their religion to justify exposing all including children 6' tall posters of aborted fetises. This along with similar visuals on two trucks that I saw, tying up traffic driving up and down the street.

Be for or against abortion or any issue. But using your religion to justify exposing children to such images makes as much sense as the use of Muslim extremist using their religion to justify their actions or the KKK for that matter.

What if someone tried to show the atrocities of war standing along that same street showing blown up servicemen or Iraqi children? Would that be considered acceptable? I think not.

Yes I'll defend the rights of free speech for anyone, but I also have the right to criticize their methods and words as wrong and irresponsible.
