Scott Brown a Bad Joke on Massachusetts and America

Monday, January 18, 2010

Are Massachusetts Voters Going to Say No to America?

If you believe the media, RepubLIEcan Scott Brown has momentum in tomorrow's special election for the Senate Seat in Massachusetts. Though I'm not sure that any momentum he has isn't because the Press has made a self fulfilling prophecy.

Regardless, Brown is running against health care, telling the same lies about the health care bill that RepubLIEcans have been repeating all over the country. Like its going to cover abortions, hurt seniors and will raise middle class taxes. All lies but still believed by too many.

Here is the kicker, Massachusetts already has a very similar government health care plan, and guess who voted for it as a State Senator? Yep you got it, flashy Liar Scott Brown himself.

So are the voters in Massachusetts going to fall for this deception. Are they going to say to the other 49 states we can have universal health care but you can't? Is the media going to convince the voters in Massachusetts that he has momentum so therefore its inevitable, why vote?

I hope not, I surely hope that RepubLIEcan misinformation and distortions don't win again like they did through 8 years of hell during the Bush Administration.

The Wisdom of Obama

After seeing the irresponsible comments made by the GOP Senators and Congressmen regarding Iran, I thank God for the Wisdom of our President. He used restraint and wisdom in his statements about the situation in Iran to avoid giving the "Supreme Leader" any credibility when blaming the United States for the unrest.

The President and in fact even the resolutions passed by the Congress and the Senate state support for the demonstrators rights, free elections and the abhorrence of violence. Yet wisely he did not take sides in the election dispute itself or appear in any way trying to manipulate the situation.

The GOP on the other hand rather then using wisdom in their statements that have as their motive to make things better for the world, for prospects of peace, and for the prospects of change in Iran, they instead want to use George Bush cowboy terms and puff out their chests and saber rattle. This approach would do great harm to the resistance movement in Iran and thus strengthening the existing government, stoke anti American sentiments and make the middle east and the world even less safe.

It is quite clear that the GOP leaders are interested in one thing, criticizing Obama. To that end they put safety, peace and even their country's interests last.

Yesterday we saw supporters of the government in Iran shouting as usual, "Death to America". Today we see people in the streets now shouting "Death to Khamenei." That would not have happened if the anti-American fears of the Iranian people had been stoked by chest pounding by our President.

RepubOILcans block measure to lower gas prices

Apparently in an attempt to get more time for the oil speculators on wall street and Big Oil to reap more profits on the backs of American consumers, the RepubOILcans in the Senate blocked Senate Bill 3268 from being voted on.

This bill would be one of the few simple short term solutions to the problem of high oil prices, that would place Oil Commodity trading under the same rules and regulations that are in place for all other such trading.

This loophole that has existed put in place by McCain's economic guru Phil Graham, has allowed speculators to falsely inflate the price of oil on the world markets to gain even more profit for themselves while forcing the price at the pump higher and higher.

Though this is just one step in a multifaceted solution to lowering oil prices, this one corrects a wrong and would have immediate effect and can be done now. Experts have estimated this bill alone would lower oil prices up to 20%.

Seems simple upfront and a correction that could be made immediately. One problem, it negatively effects the profits of big oil and these speculators that back the these RepubOILcans, so they voted to prevent this bill from passing.

The RepubOILcans also today blocked a vote on a bill that would provide energy assistance to low income homeowners. Why, because it did not include any provisions to allow Oil Companies to pad their balance sheets with new idle leases. Since this bill had nothing to do with energy production, the RepubOILcans are proving with clairity, they have one goal, more profits for Big Oil and they will block any attempt to help consumers unless they get this.

Apparently they are stalling for time to give big oil more profits as long as possible until the Democrats have a larger majority in the Congress and take the White House.
